TheTaxAuthority Update Service Responds to a Rash of New Tax Law

MINNETONKA, MN - August 13, 2008. Nine new tax acts have been signed into law since December 15, 2007, the release date of the 2007 tax year printed edition of TheTaxBook. Tax Materials Inc., publisher of TheTaxBook, has responded by introducing TheTaxAuthority Update Service, a new product designed to keep TheTaxBook printed and electronic products updated throughout the year.

"TheTaxAuthority Update Service is much more than an electronic newsletter," said Brad Imsdahl, Executive Editor for TheTaxBook. "Our coverage of new law includes direct links to updated pages in TheTaxBook so our customers can see exactly how a new tax law changes the information found in their printed book. We feel this sets a new standard for updating printed tax products. Tax professionals expect their tax software to be updated each time Congress changes the rules. Tax publications should do the same."

How it works: TheTaxAuthority Update Service sends an email to customers each time new information is posted on TheTaxBook website. The email links customers to coverage of the new information, supporting government documents, as well as the updated pages in TheTaxBook. A re-formatted print version of all current year updates is also available for those who wish to print and save the tax law changes. The email also alerts WebCD users that a new update is ready for download.

Imsdahl also noted that TheTaxAuthority Update Service is included free of charge with the purchase of TheTaxBook, a $29.00 value when sold separately.
